He was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Jefferson County, KY at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Owen Hollis & Mary Frances Hitch Shepherd. He leaves two direct living descendants. He was Vietnam Veteran serving his country in the U.S. Army.

Ronnie Shepherd age 67 years of Louisville, KY formerly of the Millerfield Community in Adair passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at his home in Louisville, KY

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. J. Richard Lehman, the officiating clergy. Interment in Tarter Cemetery with Full Military Honors presented by VFW Post 6097. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Saturday.



Pallbearers: Austin Shepherd, Jacob Pike, Randy Curry, Ryan Murphy, Chad Shepherd, Darrell Powell, Craig Shepherd and Derick Shepherd.

He was born on Wednesday, April 23, 1947 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Owen Hollis & Mary Frances Hitch Shepherd. He died Wednesday, September 10, 2014, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 67 years, four months, and 17 days.

He is survived by the following:
  • One son: Clark (Mitzi) Shepherd of Lexington, KY

  • Five sisters: Laverne Murphy of Louisville, KY; Hester (J.B.) Powell of Shelbyville, KY; Emilene (Alvis) Floyd of Columbia, KY; Kathlene (Ranel) Curry of Columbia, KY; and Sherry Shepherd of Mt. Washington, KY

  • Two brothers: David (Dorinda) Shepherd of Goshen, KY & Ricky (Grethel) Shepherd of Costa Rica

  • One grandson: Austin Shepherd

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
He was Vietnam Veteran serving his country in the U.S. Army.
