Roger Huckaby, 64, Adair County, KY (1949-2014)

He was a US Army veteran and a carpenter, enjoyed working on old cars, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a resident of Columbia, KY at the time of his death. He was a member of a large, close knit family, the son of the late Jesse Hobert & Juanita Gayle Saunders Huckaby. He was the widower of Linda May Hartman. He leaves three direct living descendants.

Roger Huckaby, 64, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 5:40pmCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center, Columbia, KY.

Funeral service will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. David Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Russell County, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Friday, August 22, 2014.



Casket Bearers: Ricky Huckaby, Jr., Dustin Huckaby, Chris Popplewell, Ronald Robertson, Brent Terry, Josh Dart, Jesse Huckaby, and Carl Redmon.


Roger Huckaby, Adair County, KY (1949-2014)


He was born December 7, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the son of the late Jesse Hobert & Juanita Gladys Saunders Huckaby. He died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, in Columbia, Adair County, at the age of 64 years, eight months, and 13 days.

He was a US Army veteran and a carpenter, enjoyed working on old cars, fishing and playing with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda May Hartman Huckaby in 1986 and two brothers; Teddy Ray & Rodney Huckaby. Survivors include:
  • One son: Roger (Bobbie) Huckaby, Jr., of Columbia, KY

  • Five brothers: Bill, Randy & Ricky Huckaby all of Columbia, KY; and Russell and Raymond Huckaby both of Russell Springs, KY

  • One sister: Jean Terry of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildrenL Carlee & Bailey Huckaby

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a special friend, Margo McInteer
