Mrs. Ila J. Judd, Greensburg, KY (1920-2014)

She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded Green County, KY, family. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident at the time of her death. She was also a retired machine operator for Needlecraft and a homemaker. Her husband of 66 years, Ivan Judd, survives. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Mrs. Ila J. Judd of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg.

The funeral services for Mrs. Ila J. Judd were conducted at 10amCT, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, with following in the Greensburg Cemetery, N Main Street, Greensburg, KY. Bro. Scott Coates officiated. Visitation was 4pm-8pmCT, Friday, August 8, 2014, at at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Twyman Lobb, Jimmy Lobb Wayne, Edwards Bill Lobb, Mark Judd, and Rodney Whitlow.

Honorary pallbearers: Roger Whitlow, Earl Lane, Judd Tim Judd, Greg Lobb, \ Mike Judd , and Jerry Arnett.

Mrs. Ila J. Judd of Greensburg, Green County, Kentucky, was the daughter of the late L.H. Lobb and Maude Jones Lobb. She was born on Thursday, June 25, 1920 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Green County, KY. She was 94 years, one month, and 13 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was also a retired machine operator for Needlecraft and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ivan Judd of Greensburg having united in marriage on October 4, 1947.

Other survivors include:
  • Two sons and a daughter-in-law: Louis and Ruthie Judd, and Dannie Judd all of Greensburg, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Ben Judd of Campbellsville, KY; Blake Judd of Lexington, and Shawna Parson of Georgetown, KY

  • Two great-grandchildren: Kaylee Judd of Greensburg, KY, and Braxton Judd of Lexington, KY

  • Two sisters: Maxine Judd of Greensburg, KY; and Ann Lou Addington and her husband Vernal of California

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Judd was also preceded in death by her step-mother: Bertha McKinney Lobb; three sisters: Nellie Milby, Lorene Jewell, and Jane Sickels; six brothers: Pelman Edwards, Boyce Edwards, Lemuel Lobb, Robert Lobb, Ralph Lobb, and Ping Lobb.
