Reader asks about Early Release Fridays in 2014-15

Early Release was a transformative success last year, according to Adair County School Superintendent Alan W. Reed, and will be repeated in 2014-15, starting in September. It's in the school calendar on the the very excellent: Adair County School District website will carry reminders of Early Release each Friday when they occur

Jamie Isabelle writes:
Just wondering if they are going to have the early release Fridays again this year? I haven't seen any post or head anything about it. - Jamie Isabelle
Thanks, Jamie Isabelle. According to the 2014-15 school calendar PDF at the district's website, "An early release Friday student schedule will be followed during the months of September 2014 through April 2015. Students will be released from school, and bustransportation will be provided at 1:00 pm every Friday during these months for students not participating in afterschool activities. Students participating will be provided remedial, enrichment, and personal growth activities from 1:00 pm until the end of the school day. Parent pickup will be required for these students. The Early Release Fridays will be used for teachers and administrators to participate in ongoing professional development, instructional planning, and to progress monitor students to enhance learning."
