Former wife charged with murdering him with gun, tampering with physical evidence in connection with moving his truck. By Daniel Kemp, Deputy Communications Director Attorney General Jack Conway's office A Muhlenberg County woman has been indicted on charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence. A Muhlenberg County grand jury returned the two-count felony indictment on 61-year-old Brenda Hardin, of Central City, on July 31, 2014. Hardin is accused of killing her former husband, 64-year-old Ronnie Hardin, who was found on July 7 in an outbuilding of his former home. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Muhlenberg County Coroner's Office. The indictment charges Brenda Hardin with murdering Mr. Hardin by shooting him with a gun. Additionally, Brenda Hardin was indicted on one count of tampering with physical evidence in connection with moving Mr. Hardin's truck. Attorney General Conway's Office of Special Prosecutions is handling the prosecution of this case at the request of Commonwealth's Attorney Ralph Vick. Hardin is scheduled for arraignment on August 6 at 10 a.m. CST in Muhlenberg Circuit Court. Murder is a class A felony and carries a penalty of 20 years to life in prison.
