Kathleen Peck, 86, Russell County, KY (1928-2014)

She was a beloved citizen of South Central KY. She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Russell County at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the laate Oval Paul & Bernice Hadley Pettey and the widow of Dr. Charles E. Peck, who preceded her in death shortly ago, November 14, 2013. She was a homemaker and a member of Russell Springs First Baptist Church. She was the matriarch of a highly distinguished family, with many members in Russell and Adair Counties of South Central Kentucky and elsewhere. She leaves 17 direct living descendants.

Kathleen Peck, 86, of Russell Springs, died Friday, July 11, 2014 at her home.

Funeral service for Kathleen Peck will be 11amCT, Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Russell Springs First Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Sunday, July 13, 2014, at the church and after 9 amCT, Monday till funeral time. Burial in the Russell Springs City Cemetery. Special Music will be rendered by the Church Choir.



Active Pallbearers: Adam Ellis, Greg Peck, Bryon Ellis, Blake Ellis; Christopher Huston, Patrick Huston.

Honorary Pallbearer: Aaron Peck.

She was born March 29, 1928 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Oval Paul & Bernice Hadley Pettey. She died Friday, July 11, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 86 years, three months, and 13 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Russell Springs First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles E. Peck ; a daughter, Suzanne Peck; and a brother, Weldon Pettey.

Survivors
  • Four children: Paul (Andrea) Peck, Columbia, KY; Teresa (Keith) Ellis, Russell Springs, KY; Libby (Paul) Huston, Fairfield, Ohio; and John (Susan) Peck, Columbia, KY

  • Eleven grandchildren: Adam Ellis, Greg Peck, Amy Ellis, Lindsey Huston Cook, Hannah Peck, Bryon Ellis, Christopher Huston, Emily Peck, Patrick Huston, Aaron Peck, and Blake Ellis

  • Two great grandchildren: Ben Peck, and Landri Ellis
The family requests memorials be made to the Dr. Charles E. Peck Scholarship Fund at the Russell County High School. These can be made at the church or high school.
