Dora Aliene Foster, Adair County, KY (1927-2014)

Mrs. Foster was a member of Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church and was a homemaker. She was a member and matriarch of a highly regarded Northeast Adair County family, She was the daughter of the late Sidney Owen and Mary Susan Cowan Streeval, and the widow of Willie R. Foster. She leaves 89 direct living descendants.

Dora Aliene Foster age 87 years of Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, the Christine Community, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 2:20amCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center, Columbia, KY.

Funeral service Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster & Bro. Lewis Burton the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Bearwallow Cemetery, 6090 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Dora Aliene Foster, Adair County, KY (1927-2014)


She was born on February 23, 1927 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Owen & Mary Susan Cowan Streeval. She died Thursday, July 10, 2014, in Columbia, Adari County, KY, at the age of 87 years, four months, and 17 days.

She was was the widow of Willie R. Foster who preceded her in death on September 8, 2008, also preceded in death by one son, Sidney Foster; one daughter, Rosemary Foster, and three grandsons, and one granddaughter.

She is survived by four sons;
  • Bro. Ralph (Darlene) Foster of Columbia, KY; Danny (Melinda) Foster of Columbia, KY; Michael (Donna) Foster of Columbia, KY; Johnny Foster and his fiancee’ Jada Johnson of Columbia, KY

  • Four daughters; Corine (Clifton) Simpson of Edinburgh, IN; Linda (Dennis) Roberts of Columbia, KY; Jeanetta (Gene) Holmes of Columbia, KY; Beverly (Larry) Bryant of Seymour , Indiana

  • Twenty-four grandchildren

  • 50 great grandchilden

  • Eleven great great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews & a host of relatives a friends
Mrs. Foster was a member of Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church and was a homemaker.
