Mrs. Linnie Pearl Manis Wells, Cumberland Co., KY (1926-2014)

She was a member of Highland Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Dutch Creek Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a seamstress for Sutton Shirt Corporation and Bob Evans Manufacturing and a homemaker. She was a native of Fentress County, TN, and a resident of Cumberland County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the widow of Lowell Ray Wells. She leaves 22 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Linnie Pearl Manis Wells, age 88, of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10amCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Pitcock and Bro. Jimmy Bunch officiating. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5pmCT on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 until the funeral hour on Thursday.

She was born in Fentress County, Tennessee on Monday, June 7, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Eva Jane Choate Manis. She died Sunday, June 29, 2014, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 22 days.

She was a member of Highland Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Dutch Creek Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was a seamstress for Sutton Shirt Corporation and Bob Evans Manufacturing and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Ray Wells, whom she married on Saturday, December 28, 1946; her son, Paul Douglas Wells; her brother, Austin "Woody" Manis and her grandson, Baby Wells. She is survived by the following:
  • Her daughter and son-in-law: Linda Raye Wells Scott and Billy Scott of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • Her daughters-in-law: Selenia Wells and Lisa Garmon

  • Her sisters: Dorothy Henrey of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Marie Webb of Livingston, Tennessee

  • Her grandchildren: Sarah Elizabeth Chaney, Margaret Bastoni, Clint Wells, Nathalie Vincent, Logan Wells, Levi Jordan Scott, Jacqueline McKenzie Wells and Hannah Petra Rashell Wells

  • Her great-grandchildren: Noah Jasper Chaney, Samantha Chaney, Cyrus Tanner Vincent, Mollie Vincent, Peyton Caleb, Jonathan Carter Bastoni, Micah Scott Bastoni, Lucus Bastoni, Penelope "Penny" Bastoni, Niki Wells, Abbey Wells, Brooklyn Scott and Cameron Scott
