Daryl Keith Greer, Knifley, KY (d. June 27, 2014)

He was a native of Knifley, KY, and a resident of the community at the time of his death. He was a member of a very large, highly regarded family with deep family roots central to Knifley but with strong ties in other parts of Adair, Taylor, Russell and Casey Counties and other locations. He was the son of the late Wesley and Ola Frances Thompson Greer. He leaves 20 direct living descendants. He was a heavy equipment operator, and had enjoyed a successful career working on many roads across Kentucky

Daryl Keith Greer, Sr., age 60, of Knifley died unexpectedly Friday, June 27, 2014, at his residence.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1pmCT/2pmET, Monday, June 30, 2014, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville with burial to follow in Chappell Cemetery at Knifley, KY. The family requests visitation from 2pm-7pmCT/3pm-8pmET, Sunday, June 29, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.



Serving as pallbearers: Jordan Flinchum, Ryan Greer, Jeff Greer, Charlie Greer, Greg Greer and Brent Irwin.

He was a heavy equipment operator, having enjoyed working on many roads across the state.

A native of Knifley, he was a son of the late Wesley and Ola Frances Thompson Greer.

He was preceded in death by two sons, James Darren Greer and William Joseph Greer and a brother, Charles Wesley "C.W." Greer. He is survived by the following:
  • His children: Keith Greer, Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Columbia, KY; Shannon Greer and his wife, April of Russell County, KY; Priscilla Greer of Columbia, KY; Barbara Key of Knifley, KY; Kent Greer, Hannah Greer and Leah Greer, all of Columbia, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • His brothers and sisters: Dwight Greer and his wife Ruth, of Knifley, KY; Eunonia Mardis and her husband, Harold of Campbellsville, KY; Ivan Greer of Columbia, KY; Bill Greer of Knifley, KY; Deborah Kimbler and her husband, Gary of Columbia, KY; Vanessa Flinchum, of Campbellsville, KY; Tammy Houk and her husband, Benny of Campbellsville, KY; Phillip Greer and his wife, Lisa, of Knifley, KY; and Stewart Greer and his wife, Lynita of Knifley, KY

  • His long time companion, Rhonda Beck, her son, Stephen and mother, Joyce Blair.
