Lois Grider, 77, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Adair County, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 6:30amET, at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Troy Grider officiating. Burial in Adair County, KY, at Freedom Cemetery, 576 Freedom Church Road, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation after 11amCT, Thursday, June 19, 2014.



Lois Yarberry Grider, 77, Adair Co., KY (1936-2014)


She was born Tuesday, August 25, 1936, in Montpelier, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Bud & Winfrey Rowe Yarberry. She died Sunday, June 15, 2014, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 21 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Grider; two brothers, Martin & Walter Yarberry; and one sister, Maxine Sloan.

She was a waitress and a strong University of Louisville Cardinal Basketball fan. Survivors include:
  • Three daughters: Rhonda & Marsha Grider both of Louisville, KY; and Nila Gentry of Spencer, IN

  • One sister: Margaret Grider of Spencer, IN

  • Five grandchildren: Donald Grider, Jr., Christina Lapinski, Rebecca Fernandez, Christian Gentry and Nisa Gentry

  • Five great-grandchildren
