Mr. Norman Gene (Sonny) McAllister, Taylor Co., KY (1935-2014) He was a native of West Virginia and a resident of Campbellsville, KY at the time of his death. His wife, Mrs. Janet Wolfe McAllister, survives. He leaves 28 direct living descendants. As a young man, Mr. McAllister answered the call to duty and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a civil servant of the highest example, proven by his three retirements from federal, state, and city municipalities. Mr. McAllister was a Mason and an intellect. He loved playing chess, cards, and pool. He held bowling trophies, and was rarely seen without a quality book close at hand. Above all that, though, he cherished his family most. He died Sunday, June 8, 2014, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and 20 days. As a young man, Mr. McAllister answered the call to duty and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a civil servant of the highest example, proven by his three retirements from federal, state, and city municipalities. Mr. McAllister was a Mason and an intellect.
