William (Billy) Leon London, Center, KY (d. May 24, 2014)

He was the patriarch of a large, highly regarded North Metcalfe County, KY,m family. He was the son of the late Leon and Mildred Myers London. He was the widower of Margie Nunn London. He leaves 18 direct and 4 step living descendants. He was a farmer and a graduate of Center High School, and an elder of the Seven Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

William (Billy) Leon London age 84 of Center died Saturday May 24, 2014 at the Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton, KY.

Funeral services will be 1pmCT, Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Seven Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1607 Seven Springs Church Road, Center, KY, with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 26, 2014, from 3pm until 8pmCT at the Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY and after 10amCT, Tuesday at the church.



He was the son of the late Leon and Mildred Myers London. He was a farmer and a graduate of Center High School, and an elder of the Seven Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: William Allen and wife Becky London of Center, Charles and wife Cindy London of Center, KY

  • One daughter: Rita and husband Tim McMurtrey of Summer Shade, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Richie, Johnny, and Andy London, Kelly McMurtrey Thompson, Leslie McMurtrey Goodman, Tayler McMurtrey, and Maria London Parke

  • Three step grandchildren: Colton, Logan, and Christian Darnell

  • Eight great grandchildren: Travis, Branson, Addison, Tyler, and Kassady London, Claire Goodman, and Caitlin and Caiden Parke

  • One step great grandson: Scout Thompson

  • One brother Mitchell London

  • Five sisters: Elizabeth Worley, Linda Thompson, Cora Emma Jessie, Rebeccah Beard, and Anita Bass
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Margie Nunn London, two brothers Wayne and Ray London.

In lieu of flowers the family would like expressions of sympathy made to the Seven Springs Church Cemetery Fund. A special thanks to the Metcalfe Health Care and to Hospice for his care.
