Karalee Caldwell Jones, Adair Co., KY (1947-2014)

She professed faith in Jesus Christ at an early age, joining Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Adair County, where she was a faithful member. She was a choir member and served on the Missionary and Usher Boards. She was church custodian for many years. She was also a faithful worker in the Zion District Women's Education Institute, serving as President until her health failed. She worked diligently anywhere and everywhere she was called. She volunteered her services willingly throughout many different community organizations. She received many awards of recognition for her dedicated service.

On Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 6:15pmET, the death angel visited the Golden Living Nursing Center at Green Hill in Greensburg, Kentucky and took Karalee Caldwell Jones home.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 12pm noon CT at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Caldwell delivering the eulogy. Burial in Bridgewater-Groves-Caldwell Cemetery in Green County Visitation on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, after 5pmCT, and on Thursday until 10amCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home and after 11amCT, Thursday, May 22, 2014, at the church.



Casket Bearers: Chad Caldwell, Bradley Taylor, James Taylor, Kevin Foster, Mark Jones, and Carl Jones.

Karalee Caldwell Jones, Columbia, KY (1947-2014)


She was born in Adair County, Kentucky on Monday March 31, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Lettie Pearl Smith Caldwell and Alfonso Caldwell. She died Sunday, May 18, 2014, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 67 years, 1 month, and 18 days.

She professed faith in Jesus Christ at an early age, joining Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Adair County, where she was a faithful member. She was a choir member and served on the Missionary and Usher Boards. She was church custodian for many years.

She was also a faithful worker in the Zion District Women's Education Institute, serving as President until her health failed. She worked diligently anywhere and everywhere she was called. She volunteered her services willingly throughout many different community organizations. She received many awards of recognition for her dedicated service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lettie Pearl and Alfonso Caldwell and a brother, Wayne Caldwell.

She leaves to mourn her passing:
  • Five sisters; Ina Fay Richardson, Helen Taylor (Randy), Ailene Foster all of Campbellsville, KY; Mary Virginia McKinney of Columbia, South Carolina; Glenda Rae Porter of Greensburg, KY

  • Sisters-in-law: Mary Williams of Columbia, KY; and Minnie Jones of New York

  • A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends

  • Special companion: George Johnson, Jr., and special friends; Karen Reed, Aleta Thompson, Mary Etta Newby and Brenda Thompson
