She was a member of the Judio Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Claude and Grace Adams Brewington. Her hasband, Lloyd Smith, survives. She leaves 3 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Claudette Smith, age 65, of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky.

Funeral Services were conducted on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Raymond Castillo officiating. Special singing and music was provided by Will Scott and Creed Scott. Burial was in the Dodson Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Will Scott, Justin Harper, Tyler Smith, Jim Daniels, Jason Brewington, Alex Killman and Charles Scott. Honorary Casket Bearer was Dr. Jerry Bean.

She was born in the Kettle Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on Sunday, March 27, 1949, the daughter of Claude and Grace Adams Brewington. She died Monday, May 12, 2014, at the Cumberland County Hospital at the age of 65 years, 1 mnths, and 16 days.

She was a member of the Judio Church of Christ and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Loyd Steven Smith of Burkesville, Kentucky, and the following:
  • Her son and daughter-in-law: Shannon and Wilma Smith of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • Her sister and brother-in-law: Holli and Charles Scott of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • Her brother and sister-in-law: Tommy and Ruth Adams of Indianapolis, Indiana

  • Her grandchildren: Justin Harper and Tyler Smith
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to The Dodson Cemetery Fund at First and Farmers Bank in Burkesville, Kentucky.
