She was a native of Marion County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Cleaver Moore and Elizabeth McCarty Moore. She leaves 10 direct living descendants, spanning 3 generations. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Metzmeier Nursing Home, she also was employed at Price's Grocery near Saloma in Taylor County, KY, for several years

Betty Nelson of Campbellsville, KY, died at 4:02pmET, Friday, May 9, 2014 in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services at 12pmCT/1pmET, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KYin Campbellsville by Dr. James Jones. Burial will be in the Benningfield Cemetery in Marion County, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/ 5pm-8pmET., May 13th, 2014 at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Frankie Cox, Ronnie Hardin, Tim Jones, Greg Moore, Leon Moore, Tommy Moore, Gary Porter, and Lonnie Whitlock.

Betty Nelson, Taylor County, KY (1944-2014)) Betty Nelson of Campbellsville daughter of the late Cleaver Moore and Elizabeth McCarty Moore. She was born in Marion County, Kentucky, on Monday, March 13, 1944. She died Friday, May 9, 2014 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 27 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She was a retired employee of Metzmeier Nursing Home, she also was employed at Price's Grocery for several years.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and one daughter: Ollie Jones, Brian Nelson and Patricia Lanham of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Jessica Lynn Dean, Danielle Jones and Brandon Nelson of Campbellsville, KY; and Timmy Jones of Glasgow, KY

  • Four great-grandchildren: Allison Dean and Cameron Dean, Allie Jones, and Tyler Ray Jones

  • Three brothers and three sisters: Junior Moore of Campbellsville, KY; Paul Moore, Robert Moore and Sue Cox of Lebanon, KY; and Joyce Porter and Aileen Whitlock of Finley, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • Many other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by one son, Danny Jones January 31, 2003 and one sister, Tresea Hardin.
