Mary Kathryn Hutchison Davis, Adair Co., KY (1923-2014)

She was the matriarch of a distinguished, old line Adair County family deep roots in Russell County, KY, and elsewhere. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Robert and Mary Caldwell Hutchison and the widow of Earl Davis, who preceded her in death in 1957. She leaves 16 direct living desendants. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Columbia Baptist Church and retired from Union Underwear in Campbellsville, KY

Mary Kathryn Hutchison Davis age 90 years formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 9:37pmCT, at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY after several months illness.

A graveside service will be held Thursday May 8, 2014 at 1pmCT, in the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Tony Stephens the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery/ The family requests visiting after 10amCT, on Thursday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.



Mary Kathryn Hutchison Davis, Adair Co., KY (1923-2014)

She was born Tuesday, July 24, 1923 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Robert and Mary Caldwell Hutchison. She died Sunday, May 4, 2014, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 90 years, 9 months, and 12 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Davis on October 27, 1957; by two brothers Carl Hutchison and Clyde Hutchison; and one sister Ruth Jones.

She is survived by:
  • One son: Kenneth H. Davis and wife Lorraine of Slidell, Louisiana

  • One daughter: DeAnna Loy and husband Kenneth of Jamestown, KY

  • Two sisters: Margaret Clements of Columbia, KY; and Ruby Morrison of Glensfork, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Dr. Melanie Loy-Flanagan, John Loy, Dr. Eric Loy, Lori Chopin, Sherri Champagne, Keven P. Davis.

  • Eight great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Davis was a member of the Columbia Baptist Church and retired from Union Underwear in Campbellsville, KY.
