Donnie (Buck) Sneed, Columbia, KY (1947-2014)

Mr. Sneed was a member of a large, respected Gradyville family. He was a member of the Gradyville Baptist Church, a US Army Vietnam veteran, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and was a former construction worker. He will be accorded full military honors by Columbia VFW Post 6097. He was the son of the late Ernest and Mildred Sylvia Moore Sneed. He leaves 4 direct living descendants.

Donnie (Buck) Sneed, age 66 years of Columbia, KY passed away Monday April 14, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY after several weeks illness.

Funeral service will be Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Mark Lile the officiating clergy. Interment in the Moore Cemetery, 225 Prices Creek Road, Edmonton, KY (in Adair County, KY), with full military honors presented by Columbia VFW Post 6097. Visiting will begin after 3:30pmCT, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014,m at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Pallbearers: Steven Baker, Dale Hayes, Dean Hayes, Brandon Sexton, Jeremy Sneed, and Josh Wilson.

He was born Monday, June 16, 1947 in Gradyville, Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Ernest and Mildred Sylvia Moore Sneed. He died Monday, April 14, 2014, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 66 years, 9 monhts, and 28 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Mildred Sylvia Moore Sneed and by one brother, Billy Sneed.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Power Sneed of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Angie McAllister Lusby and husband: Larry of Columbia, KY

  • One son: David Sneed and wife: Jennifer of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Ronnie Sneed of Columbia, KY and Darrell Sneed of Gradyville, KY

  • Three sisters: Geneva Page and Peggy Ray both of Campbellsville, KY, and Diane Young of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Mary Beth McAllister and Reagan Sneed
