David Keltner, 54, Adair Co., KY (d. April 3, 2014)

David Keltner was a member of a distinguished Adair County, KY, family. He was the son of Simpson and Alma Hubbard Keltner of Columbia, KY who survive. He was a 1977 graduate of Adair County High School and held a BA and MA from Western Kentucky University. He was President/CEO of Cerqua at the time of his passing. He was a highly regarded civic leader in his adopted city of Lebanon, TN, and had received one of the community's highest awards when he was named Businessman of the Year there in 2003. His wife, Tandra Keltner, survives. He leaves one direct living descendant.

David Keltner, age 54 of Lebanon, Tennessee formerly of the Clay Ridge Community in Adair County, Kentucky passed away April 3, 2014 in Florida.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2pmCT, at the First United Methodist Church 415 W. Main Street Lebanon, Tennessee. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home 313 West Baddour Parkway Lebanon, Tennessee from 2pm-8pmCT on Thursday, April 10, 2014. Visiting on Friday will be from 12pm noon CT until the service time at the church. Interment in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Lebanon, Tennessee.



Pallbearers: Kyle Spicer, Shawn Fox, Doug Philyaw, Gary Campbell, Ben Benjamin, John Ferrell, Carl Kluetz and Steve Beins.

Honorary Pallbearers: Bill Keltner, Michael Keltner, Gary Curry, Jason Curry, Roger Foley.

He is survived by his parents: Simpson and Alma Hubbard Keltner of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • His wife: Tanda Keltner of Lebanon, Tennessee

  • One daughter: Brandy Spicer and husband Kyle

  • One sister: Peggy Curry and husband Gary of Columbia, KY
  • One brother: Billy Keltner and wife Sondra of Columbia, KY

  • Nephews: Jason Curry, Michael Keltner and Sarah Keltner
David Keltner was a 1977 graduate of Adair County High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Western Kentucky University, and a Master of Arts from Western Kentucky University.

He was President/CEO of Cerqa at the time of his passing. Previously he worked as Director of Marketing at Prospect and was Vice President for Media Mail.

Mr. Keltner was very active in community of Lebanon Tennessee. He served in Leadership Wilson, beginning in the Class of 1996, then on the Board of Directors from 2000-2007, President of LWA from 2000-2002, Treasurer of the Board 2002-2003, Vice President 2003-2004, and President of the Board from 2004-2005. He served as Lebanon Breakfast Rotary Club president 1999-2000; he was a member of the Rotary Club from May 1996-June 2010. Mr. Keltner served on the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Board 1998-2000, Education Chair 1999-2000. Under Dave's leadership, the Friend of Education Award was implemented. In 2001 Dave was awarded the Business Person of the Year Award for his work and professional business leadership with Prospect, Inc. and awarded the Friend of Education Award in 2003.
