Ricky Neal Whitley, Sr., age 37, of Albany, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Jaime McCutchen officiating. Special singing was provided by the Gospel Independent Baptist Church Choir. Special music and singing was provided by Jewell Pyles. Burial was in the Modoc Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Ricky Whitley, Jr., Todd Huckelby, Tony Whitley, Timmy Gilbert, Kyle Guffey and Kurtis Guffey. Honorary Casket Bearers were Jody Vincent, Randall Vincent, Weldon Key, Stevie Whitley, Hoy Whitley, Melvin Asberry, Donnie Joe Asberry and Dwayne Asberry.

He was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on Saturday, October, 23, 1976, the son of Rex Neal Whitley and Connie Lee Asberry Guffey. He died Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Cookeville, Putnam County, TN, at the age of 37 years, 4 months, and 23 days.

He was a member of the Branham Grove Baptist Church and was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Stanley "Red" and Lovie Holman Whitley and his maternal grandfather, Don Asberry.

He is survived by his father, Rex (and Judy) Whitley of Leitchfield, Kentucky and his mother, Connie (and Keith) Guffey of Albany, Kentucky, and the following:
  • His children: Ricky Neal Whitley, Jr. of Radcliff, Kentucky; Urilla Autumn Rose Whitley of Russell Springs, Kentucky; Wyatt Neal Whitley of Albany, Kentucky: Olivia Rae Whitley of Albany, Kentucky; and Charlie Quade Whitley of Albany, Kentucky

  • His maternal grandmother: Martha Asberry of Bowling Green, Kentucky

  • His sisters and brothers-in-law: Susan and Sammy Garmon of Burkesville, Kentucky and Stacy and James McGinnis of Albany, Kentucky

  • His step-brothers: Leslie Sebastian of Hardinsburg, Kentucky; Kyle Guffey of Lewisburg, Kentucky; and Kurtis Guffey of Bowling Green, Kentucky

  • His step-sister: April McStoots of Leitchfield, Kentucky

  • His nieces: Jada, Tyqilia, Kathryn, Weindea, Gracie Lane, Gracie Jo and Hannah

  • And his nephews: Eric, Thomas, Leslie and Ben
