Kenneth Depp Poynter, Metcalfe County, KY (d. Mar. 20, 2014)

He was a member of a highly regarded North Metcalfe County family. He was the last survivor of his generation of siblings, the seven children of he late Ellie and Sarah Poynter. His wife of 59 years, Nona Chaney Poynter, survives. He leaves 2 direct living descendants. He was a farmer and member of the Antioch Baptist Church

Kenneth Depp Poynter, age 79, of Knob Lick, KY, died Thursday March 20, 2014 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be 2pmCT, Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Asbury-Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 22, 2014, 5pm-8pmCT at the the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Ellie and Sarah Poynter. He was a farmer and member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nona Chaney Poynter of Knob Lick, KY, and he following:
  • One daughter: Rita and husband Daniel Wade of Knob Lick, KY

  • A special grandson: Tyler Piper and his daughter Avery Piper of Knob Lick

  • Several nieces and nephews
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Maxie and Bud Poynter; and four sisters, Adrine England, Bernice Edwards, Doris Calhoun and Shirley Neal.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
