He was a native of Shelby County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County, KY, at the time of his death. His wife, Patrisha Hoskins, survives. He leaves 3 direct and 1 step living descendants.

Mr. James Garland Hoskins, 42, of Campbellsville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at his home after a long illness.

There will be a funeral service for Mr. James Hoskins at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718, on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 2:30pmCT/3:30pmET. Dr. Wesley Paul, Hosparus Chaplain, will be officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 1pmCT/2pmET, until time for the funeral.



Mr. James Garland Hoskins, 42, Taylor Co., KY (1971-2014)

Mr. Hoskins was born in Shelby County, KY, September 8, 1971. He was the son of the late Julian Wesley and Wilma Katherine (Green) Hoskins. He died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 42 years. 6 months, and 10 days.

He was known throughout the community as a very lovable person, always smiling, and an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.

Mr. Hoskins is survived by:
  • His wife: Patrisha Hoskins

  • One son: Robert Lefler of Henry County, KY

  • Two daughters: Candice Dawn Hoskins of Henry County, KY; and Danielle DeNay Hoskins of Shelby County, KY

  • One stepson: Jeremy Lee Dearing of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two siblings: Julian Hoskins, Jr. and wife Melinda of Louisville, and Barbara Hoskins of Louisville, KY

  • His father-in-law and mother-in-law: Gary and Sandra Yates

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials take the form of donations to the funeral expenses, and can be made at the funeral home.
