Charlotte Elaine Burris Wesley, Casey Co., KY (1928-2014)

She was the beloved matriarch of a highly regarded, distinguished Casey County, KY, family. She was the daughter of Dr. Lewis E. Wesley, and the mother of Dr. Bradrod Wesley, who survives. Stanley (Jack) and Rena Allen Burris and the widow of She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association since she graduated in 1949 and a Big Blue Fan. She was a real estate broker/salesperson. She was an active member of The Central Kentucky Woman's Club of Lexington for many years and served on numerous committees.

Charlotte Elaine Burris Wesley, age 85, of Liberty, KY passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Funeral services will be 10amCT/11amET, Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Liberty United Methodist Church, 108 Hustonville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bruce Hiner , J.D. Shipp, and Walter Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 6:00-9:00 P.M. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.



Serving as pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews, Stanley and Chris Burris, Joe, David, and Casey Maupin, John and Jim Nally and Aaron Shipp.

Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and great nieces.

Born Saturday, December 1, 1928 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Stanley (Jack) and Rena Allen Burris. She died Thursday, March 13, 2014, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 12 days.

She was the widow of Dr. Lewis E. Wesley.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Stanley Lewis and Lewis E. Wesley, Jr. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bennie Burris.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her son: Dr. Bradford Wesley and his wife, Sherri of Liberty, KY.

  • Her sister: Lorene (Bill) Maupin of Campbellsville, KY

  • Sister-in-law: Katherine Burris

  • Several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews
She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association since she graduated in 1949 and a Big Blue Fan. She was a real estate broker/salesperson. She was an active member of The Central Kentucky Woman's Club of Lexington for many years and served on numerous committees.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that condolences be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Hustonville Christian Church.
