Kenneth M. Hewitt, Cumberland Co., KY (1934-2014)

He was a merchant and a highly regarded citizen of Cumberland County, KY. He was a native of Canada, and a resident of the Casey Fork Community in Cumberland County at the time of his death. He was a former machinist and the owner of Hewitt Grocery in the Grider Community of Cumberland County for many years. His wife, Janie Hewitt, survives. He leaves 34 direct living descendants.

Kenneth M. Hewitt, age 79, of Burkesville, KY (the Casey Fork Community) passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his home.

Funeral services willl be Saturday, March 01, 2014 at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Dutch Creek Cemetery. Family requests visitation 4pm-9pmCT, Friday, February 28, 2014 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville.



Kenneth M. Hewitt, Cumberland Co., KY (1934-2014)

Ken was born on Wednesday, November 21, 1934 in Canada. He was the son of the late Russell and Glea Hewitt. He died Wednesday, February 26, 2014, in Burkesville, Cumberland Co., KY, at the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 5 days.

He was a former machinist and the owner of Hewitt Grocery in the Grider Community of Cumberland County for many years.

Survivors Include:
  • His wife: Janie Hewitt of Burkesville, KY

  • Five daughters: Debra Hewitt and Cheryl Hewitt both of Lawrence, Kansas; Gwen Fields and her husband Donnie of Marrowbone, KY: Vicki Adams and her husband Jeff of Willow Shade, KY; and Donna Tatusch and her husband Ron of Arlington, New Jersey

  • Two sons: Russell Hewitt of San Diego, California; and Steve Manthei and his wife Dawn of Marrowbone, KY

  • One brother: Rodney Hewitt of San Diego, California

  • Fifteen grandchildren

  • Twelve great grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
