He was a native of Green County, KY, the son of the lage Clifford Edwin Blakeman and Jane Aquila Larimore Blakemore. He was the retired owner and operator of Blakeman Hardwoods and Blakeman Carpets. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church.

Henry E. Blakeman, 72, of Campbellsville, KY died at 8:34amET, Monday, February 24, 2014 in Campbellsville.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT/11amET, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Curtis Slinker and Rev. Larry Rowell, Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.


Pallbearers: Alex Blakeman, Dylan Blakeman, Scott Blakeman, Ricky Davis, John Powell, Steven Powell, Jason Slinker, and Russ Slinker.


Henry E. Blakeman, Taylor County, KY (1941-2014)

Henry E. Blakeman was the son of the late Clifford Edwin Blakeman and Jane Acquila Larimore Blakeman. He was born in Green County, Kentucky, Friday, May 23, 1941. He died Monday, February 24, 2014 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, a the age of 72 years, 9 months, and 1 day.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church.

He was the retired owner and operator of Blakeman Hardwoods and Blakeman Carpets.

He united in marriage to Mickie King June 22, 1960. She preceded him in death April 13, 2010.

He united in marriage to Barbara Edelen Powell February 14, 2014.

Besides his wife, Barbara Powell Blakeman, he is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Barry Blakeman and wife, Donna; Mark Blakeman and wife, Tammy and Steve Blakeman and fiancee, Vicki Milby; all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two step-sons: John Powell of Campbellsville, KY; and Steven Douglas Powell of Atlanta, Georgia

  • Five grandchildren: Jeffrey Scott Blakeman, Christopher Lynn Blakeman, Matthew Dylan Blakeman, Miranda Star Blakeman and Alex Bryan Blakeman

  • Two step-grandchildren: Christina Powell and Adam Chase Powell and fiancee, Chelsea Smith

  • Two step-great-grandchildren: Lucas Edward Vardeman and Sophia Yates;

  • One brother: Ronnie Blakeman and wife, Gayle of Greensburg, KY

  • One brother-in-law: Rev. Curtis Slinker of Greensburg, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Slinker.
