Mr. Weldon Lee Wolfe, Burkesville, KY (1948-2014)

He was of Holiness faith and attended The Dutch Creek Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a police officer with the Jefferson County Kentucky Police Department and a U.S. Marine Vietnam Veteran. He was a native of Barren County, KY, and a resident of Cumberland County at the time of his death. His wife, Gwendolyn Wolfe, survives. He leaves 2 direct living descendants.

Mr. Weldon Lee Wolfe, age 65, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014. at his residence on Bobby Wray Road in Cumberland County, Kentucky.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 3pmCT at The Myers Cemetery in Cumberland County Kentucky on Sunday, February 16, 2014 with Bro. Ronnie Pitcock officiating, Burial will follow. A memorial Service was held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 7pmCT at The Dutch Creek Church of the Lord Jesus Christ on Glasgow Road in Burkesville, Kentucky.

He was born in Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky on Friday, March 5, 1948, the son of Jesse and Gladys Booher Wolfe. He died on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 65 years. 11 months, and 6 days.

He was of Holiness faith and attended The Dutch Creek Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a police officer with the Jefferson County Kentucky Police Department and a U.S. Marine Vietnam Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wendell Ray Wolfe; and his sisters, Barbara Sue Wallace, Margie Singleton and Jean Franklin.

He is survived his wife, Gwendolyn Wolfe of Burkesville, Kentucky, whom he married on Sunday March 6, 2005, and the following:

  • His daughters: Julie Fjord, of Louisville, Kentucky and C.C. Davenport of Louisville, Kentucky

  • His brother and sister-in-law, Willie "Bill" (and Susan) Wolfe of Shepherdsville, Kentucky

  • His sisters and brother-in-law: Diane Thompson of Albany, Kentucky; and Marie (and Delus) Day of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • Several grandchildren also survive
