Robert L Bob Wise, Taylor Co., KY (1930-2014)

He was very active in Democratic Party politics, was a former Taylor County School Board Member, and a member of the honorable order of Kentucky Colonels. He also was a Mason and member and past master of the Andy Bowen Lodge in Spurlington. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church where was a deacon emeritus. He was a retired farmer. He was a native of Taylor County and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was a member of a highly regarded Taylor County family, the son of the late Marvin Thomas Wise and Alma Colvin Wise. His wife of over 65 years, Nell Mitchell Wise, survives. He leaves 14 direct living descendants.

Robert L. (Bob) Wise, 83, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 11:14amET, Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville by Rev. Carlis Compton. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joe Beard, Richard Puryear, Ed Bush, Charles Rhynearson, Greg Bush, Doug Simpson, John D. Gaines, John Smith, Barry Houk, Danny Vanover, Paul Lacy, Ken Witham, and Stanley McCubbin

Robert L. (Bob) Wise of Campbellsville, KY was the son of the late Marvin Thomas Wise and Alma Colvin Wise. He was born Friday, August 8, 1930 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 83 years, 6 months.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church where was a deacon emeritus.

He was a retired farmer.

He was very active in Democratic Party politics, was a former Taylor County School Board Member, and a member of the honorable order of Kentucky Colonels. He also was a Mason and member and past master of the Andy Bowen Lodge in Spurlington.

He united in marriage to Nell Mitchell December 12, 1948.

Besides his wife, Nell Mitchell Wise of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and one daughter: Ron Wise of Nashville, Tennessee; Brian Wise and wife, Connie and Roberta Cox and husband, Craig of Campbellsville, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Richie Glass and wife Jen, Natalie Wise; Mitchell Wise, Angela Watson and husband, Craig; Nick Wise and wife, Robyn; Thomas Wise, and Rachel Keeton and husband, Will

  • Four great-grandchildren

  • One sister: Wilma McGuire of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends.
Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Gideon Bibles or Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
