Charles William Forrest, 78, Adair County, KY (1935-2014)

He was a native of Willow Shade, KY and a resident of Columbia, KY, at the time of his death. veteran of the U.S. Army, having served a tour in Germany as a truck driver and cook during the l950's. Charles then worked as a self employed carpenter throughout the rest of his life. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, companion and brother who enjoyed reading his KJV 1611 Authorized Version Bible. He leaves 14 direct and one step living descendant.

Charles William Forrest, age 78 of Columbia, Adair County, KY. went home to be with the Lord early Friday evening on January 31, 2014, following a long illness. He passed quietly while resting at home in Hinton, WV.

Graveside services will be organized by the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road/KY 90, Summer Shade, KY.



Charles William Forrest, 78, Adair County, KY (1935-2014)

He was born Saturday, August 3, 1935, in Willow Shade, Ky, the son of the late Edgar W. and Lora T. Martin Forrest. He died January 31, 2014, in Hinton, Summers County, WV, at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 28 days.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, having served a tour in Germany as a truck driver and cook during the l950's. Charles then worked as a self employed carpenter throughout the rest of his life. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, companion and brother who enjoyed reading his KJV 1611 AV Bible.

Survivors include his companion, Rheeda Foose of Hinton, WV, and the following:
  • One son: Charles(Chuck) S. Forrest of Milton, FL

  • Two daughters: Rebecca Ballard and her husband, Nick of Kansas City, KS; and Diana R. Forrest of Tallahassee, FL

  • One step daughter: Connie Crews of Hinton, WV

  • One sister: Rose Mary Snively of Crawfordsville, IN

  • Five brothers: Eddie Forrest Plainfield, IN; Danny Forrest and his wife, Phyllis of IL; Dennis Forrest and his wife, Cora of Crawfordsville, IN; Terry Forrest and his wife, Lana of Jacksonville FL; Calvin Forrest of Crawordsville, IN

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Three great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Livengood.
