Jerry Plato Corbin, age 67 years, of Campbellsville, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Sunday, January 19, 2013 at 1:40pmET, at his home after an illness.

Funeral service Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Bearwallow Cemetery, 6090 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY with full military honors by Columbia V.F.W. Post 6097. Masonic rites will be conducted Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home by Columbia Masonic Lodge #96. Visitation will be after 5pmCT/6pmET, Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Fred Corbin, Mike Foster, Bob Callahan, Dave Back, Matthew Kitts, Nick Lawson, Billy Lancaster and Leo Abner.

He was born on Monday, July 29, 1946 in Adair County, KY. He died Sunday, January 19, 2013, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 21 days.

He is survived by his sole mate Wanda Pittman of Campbellsville, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters; Jerri Lynn (Dave) Back of Dry Ridge, KY; and Tammie Marie & her late husband Wilburn Randolph, Jr. of Greensburg, KY

  • One brother: Freddie Corbin of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Betty Gilbert of Columbia, KY; and Eula Jane Corbin of Somerset, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Matthew Kitts, Amanda Lawson and Ceseily Myers

  • One great grandchild: Gracie Lawson

  • Several nieces, nephews a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters William "Billy" Corbin, James Ed Corbin, Mary Alice Harris and Velma Jewell Harris.

He was a member of Bloomington Chapel Church, served his country in the U. S. Navy, was retired from Cincinnati Enquirer in Cincinnati, OH and was a member of Golden Rule Lodge #345 in Covington, KY.
