Gertrude Gosser, 93, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Monday evening, January 6, 2014 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY. Funeral service for Gertrude Gosser will be 11amCT, Friday, January 10, 2014, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Paul Roy and Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. Friends may call after 4:30pmCT, Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cedar Springs Cemetery.



Gertrude Gosser, Russell County, KY (1920-2014)


She was born Thursday, September 23, 1920 in Ingle, Pulaski County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Leo & Rosalia Scales Roy. She died Monday, January 6, 2014, at the age of 93 years, 3 months, and 13 days.

She married Cosby Gosser on June 22, 1942, and was married 58 years until her husband's death. She was a housewife, loving mother and active member of the Cedar Springs United Baptist Church. Survivors include the following:
  • Five sons: Roger (Marilyn) Gosser, Indianapolis, IN; Randy (Margaret) Gosser, New Palestine, IN, and Les (Gail) Gosser, Russell Springs, KY; Gilbert (Linda) Gosser, Somerset, KY, and Lanny Gosser, Tateville, KY

  • Seventeen grandchildren

  • Twenty-five great grandchildren

  • Three great great grandchildren

  • Three brothers: Ancil Roy, Russell Springs, KY; Vernon Roy, Tuscon, AZ; and Berlon Dee Roy, Glasgow, KY.

  • Two sisters: Evona Withers abd Susanna Burkett, both of Russell Springs, KY
