Arnold D. Burton of Dunnville, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at 4:15amET, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

Graveside service will be Thursday January 9, 2014 at 3pmCT, at Freedom Cemetery, Freedom Church Road, Columbia, KY with burial to follow. Bro. David Coffey will be the officiating clergy.



Arnold D. Burton, 73, Adair County, KY (1940-2014)


He was born on November 1, 1940 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Robert L. & Bertha Wilson Burton. He died Monday, January 6, 2014, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 73 years, 2 months, and 5 days.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Allen Burton, Albert Burton, Carol Sue Knifley and Gwendolyn Burton.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Gregory Burton of Aberdeen, Washington; and Arlin Burton of Camden, TN

  • Four brothers: Mike Burton of Russell Springs, KY; Jerry Burton of Columbia, KY; Danny Burton of Liberty, KY, and Gary Burton of Russell Springs, KY

  • Three sisters: Patricia Thomas of Russell Springs, KY; Brenda Beecher of Dunedin, FL; and Teresa Withers of Louisville, KY

  • Two grandchildren

  • One great grandchild

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
He was a member of New Hope Separate Baptist Church. He was a retired steel mill worker and served his country in the U. S. Army.
