Tessie Alexander age 92 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville, KY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Rev. Jose' Anders officiating. Burial will follow in the Grundy Chapel Cemetery. The family requests visitation on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 9amCT until service time at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville.



Tessie Alexander, Cumberland Co., KY (1921-2013

She was born on Saturday, May 21, 1921 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Oppie and Mary Fannie Jones Alexander. She died Tuesday, December 24, 2013, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 92 years, 7 months, and 3 days.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Willie Mae Alexander, two brothers, Horace and Alonzo Alexander, and three sisters, Lovie Rush, Willie Turner, and Dorothy Francis Alexander. Survivors include:
  • Two Daughters: Dorothy Alexander, and Becky Ann Alexander, both of Burkesville, KY

  • Two Sons: Donald Louis Alexander, and Mark Douglas "Skip" Rush both of Burkesville, KY

  • Special Friend: Gladys Staten of Burkesville, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
