R.T. Cave, 89, of Columbia, died Monday, December 23, 2013 at 9:10pmCT, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY

Funeral services will be Friday, December 27, 2013 at 11amCT/12pmET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Steve Willis and Bro. Lanny Garner officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 102 Mt. Carmel Cemetery Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT/5:30pmET, Thursday, December 26, 2013.

He was born Tuesday, January 13, 1924, in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Thomas Edwin "T.E." & Mattie Feese Cave. He died Monday, December 23, 2013, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 11 months,m and 10 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Cave, a sister, Christine Bridgewater, and a son-in-law, David Burris.

He was a member of Cane Valley Christian Church, a retired rural mail carrier, a longtime employee of Banks Gas and a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Murphy Cave of Columbia, KY, and the following
  • Two daughters; Kathy (Sammy) Hitch and Lana Burris all of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Jamie (William) Powell & Brandon (Jaime) Hitch all of Columbia, KY

  • Two great-grandchildren: Lauren (Cody) Willis and Ashley Goodin
