She was the matriarch of a highly large, highly regarded family. She was a native of Maryland and a resident of the Dunnville Community at the time of her death. She was the widow of Quinton Neat. She leaves 32 direct and 8 step living descendants. She attended New Hope Separate Baptist Church & was a homemaker

Elnor "Ann" Neat age 91 years of the Dunnville Community died suddenly at the Russell Co. Hospital, Russell Springs, KY, on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 2:30amCT.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. David Coffey the officiating clergy. Interment in Caldwell Chapel Cemetery, 2705 Caldwell Ridge Road, Knifley, KY. Visitation will be after 3:30pmCT, Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the funeral home.

She was born on Monday, July 24, 1922 in Baltimore, Maryland She was the daughter of the late Thomas Lonnie & Lula Mae Dixon Blackburn. She died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY at the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 24 days.

She the widow of Quinton Neat who preceded her in death on March 10, 1998 and was preceded in death by three children, James "Jimmy" Lonnie Neat , Thomas Ray Neat & Brenda Sue Neat.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Jewell (Gordon) Brown of Columbia, KY; Betty (Benny) Warren of Dunnville, KY; and Marilyn (R. C.) Gabehart of Knifley, KY

  • Daughter-in-law: Vickie Neat of Dunnville, KY

  • One brother: John Blackburn of Columbus, IN

  • Half-brother: George Bottoms of Monticello, KY

  • Half-sisters: Joyce Wall of Rockford, IL; and Laurel Jenkins of Columbus, IN

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Nineteen great grandchildren

  • Three step great grandchildren

  • Five great great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by one grandchild, two great grandchildren, three brothers and one sister. Joe, Thomas and Charles Blackburn, and Jestin Neat.

She attended New Hope Separate Baptist Church & was a homemaker.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY in charge of funeral arrangements.
