Bobby Lee Burton age 78 of the Millerfield community passed away suddenly Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 at 8:57amCT, at his home.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY Clergy officiating Bro. Ralph Foster. Interment will be in Caldwell Chapel Cemetery, 2705 Caldwell Ridge Road, Knifley, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Dusty Burton, Bradley Burton, Christopher Burton, Brent Burton, Justin Wood, Anthony Burton, Chris Burton, and Trevor Henson.

He was born on Thursday, April 25, 1935 in Adair County, KY He was the son of the late Allan & Oma Bryant Burton. He died Sunday, December 8, 2013, at his home in the Millerfield Community of Adair County, KY at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 13 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Ann Caldwell Burton on March 4, 1982.

He is survived by the following:
  • Four daughters: Janet Gentry of Columbia, KY; Paula (Rodney) Dile of Greensburg, KY; Tina Perkins & special friend Trevor Henson of Columbia, KY; and Dianna Burton of Byrdstown, TN

  • Three sons: Jeffrey Allan (Cindy) Burton of Edinburgh, IN; Bryan Burton of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Mark (Susan) Burton of Crawfordsville, IN

  • Four brothers: Hubert Burton, Woody Burton, Darhal Burton and Ivan Burton all of Edinburgh, IN

  • Four sisters: Marlene Wheeler, Delcie Burton and Vicki Whited of Edinburgh, IN; and Martha McGaha of Franklin, IN

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Twenty-two great granchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by two great grandchildren Abby and Gabby Burton, and four sisters, Shirley, Imogene, Pam and Mary.
