Nellie Gabehart, Taylor County, KY (1910-2013)

She was a native of Taylor County, KY and a resident of Pewee Valley, KY, at the time of her death. She was the widow of Noel Gabehart, her husband of 49 years. She leaves 16 direct living descendants. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

Nellie Gabehart, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Bass Ridge, ElkHorn, KY, died at 6:45pmET, Thursday, December 5, 2013 in PeeWee Valley, KY.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Larry Loy. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, at the funeral home.



Nellie Gabehart, Taylor County, KY (1910-2013)


Nellie Gabehart, of Louisville, KY; formerly of Bass Ridge, ElkHorn, KY, daughter of the late Willie Noe and Lou Murphy Noe, was born Friday, December 24, 1920, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Thursday, December 5, 2013 in PeeWee Valley, Oldham Co., KY at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 12 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

She united in marriage to Noel Gabehart April 13, 1938. He preceded her in death July 30, 1987.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and one daughter: Odis Gabehart and wife, Janet, Neal Gabehart and Wanda Farmer and husband, Donnie of Louisville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Stephen Farmer and wife, Kelly of Augusta, Georgia; Beth Gabehart of Hamilton, Ohio; Rebecca Phillips and husband, Richard of Franklin, Tennessee; and Amy Lang and husband, Mike of Hudson, Ohio

  • Eight great-grandchildren: Matthew Farmer and wife, Lauren, Mallory Click and husband, Josh, Rachel Phillips, Hannah Phillips, Nicholas Cyrus, Chad Cyrus, Sierra Cyrus, and Michaela Lang

  • One great-great-granddaughter: Riley Catherine Farmer

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Noe June 15, 1995, Walter Noe August 13, 1986 and Clarence Noe June 25, 1983.
