Exie Wise Shively, 103, Finley, KY (1910-2013)

She was a native of Taylor County, KY, the daughter of the late Kelly Wise and Minnie Wise. She was the widow of Gilbert Shively, her husband of over 47 years. She leaves 35 direct living descendants. She professed faith in Christ and was the oldest member of the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church

Exie Wise Shively, 103 years of age, of Finley, KY, died at 8:35pmET, Sunday, December 1, 2013, in Lebanon, KY.

The funeral service will be at 12pmCT/1pmET, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY by Rev. Steve Skaggs. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, December 3, 2013.



Pallbearers: Drew Benningfield, Joey Benningfield, Keith Benningfield, Travis Benningfield, Brandon Sallee, and Josh Veatch.

Honorary pallbearers Grandchildren and in-laws, great-grandchildren and in-laws, great-great-grandchildren.

Exie Wise Shively, 103, Finley, KY (1910-2013)

Exie Wise Shively was the daughter of the late Kelly Wise and Minnie Wise. She was born Monday, July 18, 1910, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Sunday, December 1, 2013, in Lebanon, Marion County, KY, at the age of 103 years, 4 months, and 14 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was the oldest member of the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Gilbert Shively October 31, 1930. He preceded her in death August 23, 1978.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Barbara Jean Benningfield and husband, Edward "Boss" of Campbellsville, KY; Mary Frances Veatch and husband, David of Finley, KY; and Judy Benningfield and husband, Carroll of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Glenn Benningfield, Keith Benningfield, Kelly Carney and husband, Mark of Campbellsville, KY; and Donnie Veatch and wife, Beth and Jean Sallee of Finley, KY

  • One daughter-in-law: Judy Benningfield of Campbellsville, KY

  • Sixteen great-grandchildren

  • Eleven great-great-grandchildren

  • Special caregiver: Pat Simpson of Campbellsville, KY
She was preceded in death by a son, William Paul Shively in 1934 in infancy; a grandson, Gary Wayne Benningfield April 20, 2013, one great-grandson, Russell Veatch; and three brothers and two sisters: Omer Wise, Charlie Wise, Lawrence Wise, Alma Brockman and Josie Caulk and one step-brother, Jake Wise.

The family requests expresssions of sympathy be donations to Brockman Cemetery Association and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. Send a condolence to the family of Exie Wise Shively
