Fox Turner Ponder, 93, of Russell Springs, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Thomson Hood Veteran Center in Wilmore, KY.

Visitation will be 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with a graveside service to follow at 2:30pmCT/3:30pmET at the Squire Hensley Cemetery in Oneida, KY.

Fox Turner Ponder was born He was born Tuesday, May 11, 1920 in Sidell, Clay County, KY. He was the son of the late Beverly & Iola Hensley Ponder. He died Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Wilmore, Jessamine County, KY, at the age of 93 years, 5 months, and 15 days.

He was a career United States Air Force Pilot and 15 year FAA inspector, investigator, and instructor.

Survivors include the following:
  • Daughter: Tami (Jeffery K.) Schweitzer, Russell Springs, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Victor Steven Smith, Carolyn Lee Fernald, and Lauryn Ponder Smith

  • Three great grandchildren: Fox, Eleanor, and Fisher Fernald.
Memorials may be made through Bernard Funeral Home to Thomson Hood Veterans center in Wilmore, Kentucky which supports Kentucky Veterans or the Russell County Sportsman Club.
