James Allen Wallace age 77 of Edmonton died Friday, October 25, 2013 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Monday, October 28, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Sunday, October 27, 2013 and after 9amCT, Monday at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Olan Wallace and Georgia Duke Blaydes Robertson. He was a retired carpenter, member of the Grace Union Baptist Church and served in the Army National Guard. He is survived by his wife Betty Shockley Wallace of Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Ricky (wife Virginia) Wallace and Jamie (wife Crystal) Hurt of Edmonton, KY

  • Four daughters: Judy (husband Bobby) Coomer of Edmonton, KY; Regina (Husband Rondal) Brown of Edmonton, KY;; Nancy (Companion Tonya) Wallace of Lebanon, KY; and Mary Gayla (husband Nate) Anderson of Hendersonville, TN

  • His step father: Travis Robertson of Munfordville, KY

  • Five sisters: Fay Byrns of Corbin, KY; Barbara Dunkle of Munfordville, KY; Sue Avery of Greensburg, KY; Ruby James of Jeffersonville, IN; and Debbie Thomas of Cub Run, KY

  • Three brothers: Kenny Robertson of Clarksville, IN; Billy Wallace of Ramsey, IN; and Mike Robertson of Cub Run, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Nine great grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, Ruth Firkins Wallace and Winnie White Wallace.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
