Alice Mae Crockett Brown, 98, Jabez, KY (1915-2013)

She was the daughter of the late William Robert & Dora Bell Carroll Crockett, and the widow of Arcillus Brown. She leaves 76 direct living descendants spanning 4 generations. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jabez Christian Home Church.

Alice Mae Brown, 98, of the Jabez Community, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at her home.

Funeral service for Alice Mae Brown will be 1pmCT/2pmCT, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Jabez Chrfistian Home Church with Bro. Jimmy Polston, Bro. Clifton Cowan, and Bro. Mark Polston officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY. Burial will be in the Military Springs Cemetery. Special Music will be by the Mark Polston Family.



Pallbearers: Demetrios Karabinas, Shaun Brown, Macy Winchester, Chris Karabinas, Randy Polston, and Jeremy Brown.

She was born Wednesday, February 24, 1915 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late William Robert & Dora Bell Carroll Crockett. She died Sunday, October 20, 2013, in Jabez, Russell County, KY, at the age of 98 years, 7 months, and 24 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Jabez Christian Home Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Arcillus Brown; two sons, Londo Brown and Glen Brown; a granddaughter, Shellie McGowan; a great grandson, Keith Stevenson; and her sister, Lorine Oakes (10-21-13) Survivors include the following:
  • Six children: Edith Wilson, Columbia, KY; Vonnie (Demegtrios) Karabinas, Nancy, KY; Janice (Jimmy) Polston, Mooresville, IN; Roger (Chloe) Brown, Nancy, KY; Beulah (Arnold) Winchester, Nancy, KY; and Roy (Vickie) Brown, Nancy, KY.

  • Twenty-two grandchildren

  • Forty-five great grandchildren

  • Three great great grandchildren

  • Daughter-in-law: Norma Jean Brown, Fortville, IN
