Joseph Michael Hardin, formerly of Taylor Co., KY (1950-2013)

He was a native of Jefferson County, KY and formerly lived in Campbellsville, KY. He was the son of the late Joe Henry Hardin and Villa Malone Hardin. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country honorably in the United States Army and will be accord full military honors by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. He was a retired employee at General Electric having worked some thirty-eight years. He leaves 10 direct living descendants

Joseph Michael Hardin of Louisville, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late Joe Henry Hardin and Villa Malone Hardin was born May 16, 1950 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He died at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 18, 2013 in Louisville. Age: 63

The funeral service will be at 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. Brian Rafferty. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY, with full military honors by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be 9am-12pm noon CT/10am-1pmET, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Patrick Hardin, Tyler Hardin, Wesley Hardin, Harold Lotter, and Darryl Oaks.

Joseph Michael Hardin was the son of the late Joe Henry Hardin and Villa Malone Hardin. He was born Tuesday, May 16, 1950 in Jefferson County, KY. He died Friday, October 18, 2013 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY at the age of 63 years, 5 months, and 2 days.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was a retired employee at General Electric having worked some thirty-eight years.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Wayne Hardin of Campbellsville, KY; and Brandon Hardin and wife, Beverly of Bardstown, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Christin Hardin, Patrick Hardin and wife, Mary, Wesley Hardin, Tyler Hardin, Elizabeth Marie Hardin, and James Matthias Hardin

  • Two great-grandchildren: Elijah Hardin and Madelyn Hardin

  • Two sisters and one brother: Shirley Cheatham and husband, Frank of Campbellsville, KY; Carole Cheatham and husband, Tom of Murfreesboro, TN; and J.W. Hardin of Elkhorn, KY

  • One sister-in-law: Kathy Hardin of Greenwood, IN

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Todd Hardin; two brothers: Charles Hardin and Harold Morris Hardin; and one sister-in-law, Linda Hardin.

The family requests expressionsof sympathy be donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital and may be made at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral home.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY in charge of arrangements.
