Mrs. Fields was a devout Christian of the Methodist Faith and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for the senior members for over forty years. She loved her Lord and reading her Bible.

Wilma Norris Fields, age 88 of Glasgow, KY, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 at NHC HealthCare in Glasgow.

The funeral service will be Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St, Burkesville, KY with Rev. Freddie Norris and Rev. Neil Jeffries officiating. Burial will be in Dutch Creek Cemetery Family requests visitation 4pm-8pmCT, Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Wilma Norris Fields, Cumberland Co., KY native (1925-2013)


She was born on Monday May 28, 1925 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Creed Thomas Norris and Mary Kate Harvey Norris. She died Friday, October 11, 2013, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 14 days.

On November 25, 1941 she married the love of her life, Jessie M. Fields, who preceded her in death 15 years ago. Mrs. Fields was a devout Christian of the Methodist Faith and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for the senior members for over forty years. She loved her Lord and reading her Bible.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, James Norris, Junior Norris, and Malcolm Norris, and four sisters, Ruby Clark, Rebecca Polston, Betty Corey, and Brenda Harris.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: DiAnn Williams and her husband Paul of Glasgow, KY and Virginia Miller and her husband Larry of Glasgow, KY

  • Two granddaughters: Renay Wittenauer and her husband Walt of Augusta, South Carolina and Crystal Harrison and her husband Rex Allen of Glasgow, KY

  • Two grandsons: Jessie Miller and his wife Katie of Marion, North Carolina and Rhyne Miller of Glasgow, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Ty and Morgan Goyne

  • Two sisters: Juanita Conley of Greenwood, IN and Kathy Faye Armstrong and her husband Jerry of Burkesville, KY

  • Two brothers: Samuel Norris of Burkesville, KY and Billy H. Norris of Gosport, Indiana

  • Two step brothers: Donald Wright of Florida, and Rondal Wright of Anderson, Indiana

  • One step sister: Mary Ruth Smith of Burkesville, KY

  • and a host of nieces and nephews
