Ruth M. Johnson age 88 years of Columbia passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 3:05amCT, at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

Funeral service Monday, October 14, 2013 at 10amCT/11amET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Terry White the clergy officiating. Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 3pmCT/4pmET, Sunday, at the funeral home.

She was born on Saturday, May 9, 1925 in Columbia, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Joe Butler & Ethel Wells Kelsay. She died Thursday, October 10, 2013, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 1 day.

She was the widow of Joe Johnson, who preceded her in death on July 21, 2013

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: J. C. Johnson & wife Vickie of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: JoAnn Jones & husband Harry of Crestwood, KY.

  • One sister: Emma Lou Woods of Holland, IN

  • A special niece: Marcella Hoy of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Kevin (Traci) Jones, Selina Jones, Carl M. (Sherri) Johnson, Leslie Stephens & Angela (Barry) Estes

  • Six great grandchildren: Baylee Johnson Walker, Connor Johnson, Rachel Stephens, Luke Stephens, Zachary Estes & Kyle Estes

  • Nieces, nephews, several other relatives and friends
