Mrs. Geneva Walker Estes, Green Co., KY (1923-2013)

She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident at the time of her death. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a former machine operator for Edmonton Manufacturing. Her marriage to Arline Estes endured a remarkable 71 years plus. She leaves 84 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Geneva Walker Estes, 90, departed this life on Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Walker Estes will be conducted at 10amCT/11amET., Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery. Bro. Mickey Pruitt and Bro. Richard Jeffries will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 2pm-8pmCT/3pm-9pmET, Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT/8amET, Thursday until time of the funeral service.



Geneva Walker Estes, Green Co., KY (1923-2013)

Mrs. Geneva Walker Estes was the daughter of the late Homer Walker and Lula Stearman Walker, was born on Monday, April 23, 1923 in Green County, and departed this life on Monday, September 23, 2013 in Greensburg, Green County, KY. She was 90 years and five months of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a former machine operator for Edmonton Manufacturing.

She united in marriage to Arline Estes on August 17, 1940 who preceded her in death on March 14, 2012.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law and two sons and daughters-in-law: Fran and Bro. Mickey Pruitt, Bro. Dennis and Delilah Estes, Bro. Ronnie and Brenda Estes, and Rita and Bro. Richard Jeffries all of Green County

  • Seven sisters and two brothers: Lentha and Alvin Estes of Greensburg, KY; Naomi Milby of Magnolia, KY; Violet Druin, Lula Bell and James Bennett all of Buffalo, KY; Arditha Cooper of Hodgenville, KY; Zola Fussell of Louisville, KY; and Christine Creason of Buffalo, KY

  • Two brothers and two sisters-in-law: James Harvey and Wilma Walker of Elizabethtown, KY; and Marion and Anna Jean Walker of Summersville, KY

  • Fifteen grandchildren

  • Sixty-five great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
