Marshall L. McCoy, Metcalfe Co., KY (d. Sept. 8, 2013)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected Metcalfe Co., KY family. He was the son of the late Owen McCoy and the late Mary Free McCoy. His wife Joyce Harper McCoy, survives. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ, a retired pipeliner and a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Marshall L. McCoy age 75 of Edmonton passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY with burial in the Randolph Cemetery in Metcalfe County, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmCT Tuesday, September 10, 2013, and after 9amCT/10amET, Wednesday at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Owen and Mary Free McCoy. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ, a retired pipeliner and a U.S. Navy Veteran.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Harper McCoy, and the following:
  • Two sons: Timmy and wife Cindy McCoy and Chris McCoy all of Edmonton, KY

  • Six sisters; Joyce McCoy Ennis of Bowling Green, KY; Norma McCoy Dial of Glasgow, KY; Mary P. Creek of Murfreesboro, TN; Freda Dugger of Glasgow, KY; Sylvia Cook of Edmonton, KY; and Janet Dilley of Glasgow, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Torie Hatton and Husband Johnny, Ethan McCoy and wife Brittany, April McCoy, Shae McCoy and Matthew McCoy

  • Four step-grandchildren: Curtis Deweese and wife Mandy, Collin Crumpton, Makenna Greene and Courtney Greene

  • Ten great and step great grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers. Owen McCoy, Jr., Billy McCoy, Phillip McCoy and Jerry Murrell McCoy.
