Opal Feese, Adair County, KY (1920-2013)

She was the oldest living member of the Egypt Christian Church at the time of her death. She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded Adair County, KY, family. She was a native of Adair County, KY and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the widow Gordon Feese. She leaves 52 direct living descendants spanning three generations and four step descendants

Opal Feese, 92, of the Egypt community, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 1:50pmCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 1pmCT, at Egypt Christian Church, 4855 Knifley Road, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Paul Patton & Bro. Hugh Withers officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT/5pmET, Friday. August 16, 2013, and from 7amCT/8amET-10amCT/11amET, on Saturday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home and after 11amCT/12pmET, Saturday at the church.



Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as casket bearers.

She was born Tuesday, September 10, 1920, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Wesley & Fannie Bryant Willis. She died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 4 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Feese and a son, Dwain Feese.

She was the oldest living member of Egypt Christian Church at the time of her death.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Wallace (Sharon) Feese and Gordon Willis Feese all of Columbia

  • Four daughters: Linda (Maxie) Smith, Robbie (Robert) Bell & Lana (Dale) Roy all of Columbia, Teresa (David) Newman of Bowling Green

  • A daughter-in-law - Barbara Feese of Columbia

  • Twenty grandchildren

  • One step-grandchild

  • Twenty-six great-grandchildren

  • Three step great-grandchildren

  • Several other relatives and friends
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Egypt Christian Building Fund would be appreciated. These may be left at the funeral home.
