He was a son of the late George and Ethel Hardin Rose and was a retired automobile mechanic. His wife, Mary Louise Branham Rose, survives. He leaves 22 direct living descendants.

John Robert (Bob) Rose, age 79 of Glasgow, died Sunday August 3, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Manchester, KY,

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 10amCT/11amET, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Brother Mark Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mud Camp Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at the funeral home.



He was a son of the late George and Ethel Hardin Rose and was a retired automobile mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Branham Rose, and the following:
  • Four daughters: Carolyn (Jerry) Fields of Manchester, KY; Sharon (Todd) Oliver of Glasgow, KY; Hannah (Timmy) Lloyd of Summer Shade. KY; and Pat Beauchamp of Glasgow, KY

  • One son: Dewayne Rose of Glasgow, KY

  • Three sisters: Priscilla Rice of Washington; Irma Rose of Oregon; and Lois Rose of Glasgow, KY

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • And six great-grandchildren
McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, in charge of arrangements.
