Mrs. Josephine Sharp Smith, 89, Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Green County. KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Sharp Smith will be conducted at 10amCT/11amET, Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorials Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY. C.W. Goff and Bro. Blake Jessie will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4:30pm-8pmCT/5:30-9pmET, Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT/8amET, Friday until time of the funeral service.

Mrs. Josephine Sharp Smith of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Artist Sharp and Lillie Simpson Sharp, was born on Thursday, May 29, 1924 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Green County, KY. She was 89 years, 1 month, and 24 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Meadowview Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Grover F. Smith on August 31, 1940 who preceded her in death on December 20, 1995.

Survivors include the following:

  • Two grandsons: Correy Goff and Tasha of Greensburg, KY; and Joey Parker of Lexington, KY

  • One great-grandson: Hayden Goff of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sisters: Opal Pendleton of Hodgenville, KY; and Lois Wright of Tennessee

  • A brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Johnny and Evelyn Smith of Louisville, KY

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: Mayme Ellis, Owen Sharp, Mae Milby, and Russell Sharp. Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
