Marie Karnes of Campbellsville, KY, died at 4:10amET, Sunday, July 21, 2013, in Elizabethtown, KY. She was 97.

Funeral services will be at 12pmCT/1pmET, Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Haywood Riner. Burial will be Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday July 23, 2013, at the funeral home.

Marie Karnes, Taylor Co., KY (1915 - 2013)

Marie Karnes was the daughter of the late William T. Bean and Nora Perkins Bean. She was born in Taylor County, KY, Wednesday, August 4, 1915. She died Sunday, July 21, 2013, in Elizabethtown. Hardin Co., KY, at the age of 97 years, 11 months, and 17 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to Charles Karnes May 5, 1929. He preceded her in death May 27, 1977.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter and one son: Ruth Ann Hayes and husband, Clyde and David Karnes and wife, Karen of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two granddaughters: Kristie DuSharm and husband, Mark of Little Rock, AR; and Shondah Cox and husband, Tim of Campbellsville. KY

  • Five great-grandchildren: Morgann Jaggers, Alexus DuSharm, Reif DuSharm, Kamry DuSharm, and Jayden Bradshaw

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: Garnita Webb, Mary Grant Carter, Thomas Bean, and Milton Bean. Send a condolence to the family of Marie Karnes
