He was a native of Casey County, KY, the son of Lola Tarter Hatfield and the late Roy Hatfield. His wife, Joyce Woods Hatfield, survives. He leaves 3 direct living descendants. He was a retired food coordinator at Northpoint. Mike was of the Protestant faith and Vietnam Army veteran. He was a food manager for the former Druthers Restaurant in Liberty and a Kentucky Colonel.

Mike Hatfield passed away Sunday July 14, 2013 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty. He was 65.

Funeral services are 1pmCT/2pmET, Thursday July 18, 2013 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY. with Bro. Josh Harness officiating. Military honors given by the Casey County Funeral Squad . Visitation is Wednesday 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, at the funeral home.

Born Thursday, November 6, 1947 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of Lola Tarter Hatfield of Liberty and the late Roy Hatfield. He died Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 65 years, 8 months, and 8 days.

He was a retired food coordinator at Northpoint. Mike was of the Protestant faith and Vietnam Army veteran. He was a food manager for the former Druthers Restaurant in Liberty and a Kentucky Colonel.

  • His wife: Joyce Woods Hatfield of Liberty, KY

  • Daughter: Angela (and Scott) Mercer of Andersonville, TN

  • Two grandchildren: Kirsten and Michael

  • And two sisters: Georgiana Murphy and Dorthy Kinne both of Liberty, KY
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the American Cancer Society.
