One of Best Vacations ever: Houseboating on Green River Lake

Marian Grant highly recommends a week on the water in Holmes Bend Houseboat. 'You will not find a better place or people! I think we just forget what we have at our fingertips sometime,' She writes.

By Marian Grant

I just wanted to remind all of those like myself who are fortunate to live in such a wonderful area.

Usually when I think about a vacation I always think about going to the beach, but this year things were a little different.

Several of my friends and I usually take a short girls trip every summer and head to the beach. This summer it seemed like we just couldn't get together to do that.

Everyone was so busy this summer and just too tired to think about driving that far. So, I thought about staying close to home and asked how they would feel about renting a houseboat.

Seems that was one of a few good ideas I have had this year. Everyone was excited about it. We decided we wanted to go to Holmes Bend Marina because we had rented a Pontoon earlier this summer there and they were so nice.

This last week we stayed over there all week and I just want to say it was one of the BEST VACATIONS WE EVER HAD TOGETHER!!!

I can't say enough of how accommodating the owners and employees of Holmes Bend Marina were!!! They are wonderful and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves the water!

You will not find a better place or people! I think we just forget what we have at our fingertips sometime. Thanks so much, - Marian Grant
